Manufacture of Ducts Type TDF or TDC
Once the dimensions of the duct and the type of closure to be used (Snap Lock or Pittsburgh-type closure) have been programmed, some cuts are made at each programmed end, which serve as a reference for it to be folded manually and thus form the duct.
Additionally, a cut will be made at the exact transversal ends of the programmed closure type, which will identify the material consumed for the manufacture of the selected closure.
Unlike the manufacture of Staple and Zeta ducts, these ducts must be bent manually in a TDF or TDC duct bender, since the duct must pass in a single sheet through the equipment that makes the TDF flanges and programming can be done for:
a) The duct comes out in a single plate, that it be folded manually and assembled in a single part.
b) The duct to come out in 2 plates and that when folding them manually, the result will be 2 “L” type sections, in this way the duct is assembled in 2 parts.
c) The duct comes out in 4 pieces and does not go through the manual bender because the process would be a 4-sided assembly.
In manufacturing, the selection of whether the duct will come out in 1, 2 or 4 pieces, will depend on its section (width + height):
a. For ducts with a section of up to 26 inches, they will be manufactured to be assembled in one part.
b. For ducts with a section of up to 54 inches, these will be manufactured to be assembled in two parts (L-shaped manufacturing).
c. For ducts with a section equal to or greater than 55 inches, these will be manufactured in 4 parts.
